Loading... Please wait...Rising on the flanks of equatorial volcanoes, the Coca River winds through an emerald paradise in southern Ecuador until it feeds into the mighty Amazon. A village close to the Coca River, in a valley called Vilcabamba, is famous for the longevity of its people, many living more than a century. Nurtured in the black soil of this valley and the rich humidity of the cloud-covered rainforest, the Ecuadorian cacao bean produces the chocolatiest Crio Brü. This smooth, sweet and nourishing drink is accented by a perfumed floral scent and lovely floral tones, including a dominant green banana note, blueberries and jasmine.
Making Crio Brü is easy, whether in a coffee maker or French Press.

Love, love, love Crio Bru, but of the five flavors I've tried, this is by far my least favorite. I should preface this by saying I'm not a coffee drinker; I prefer hot chocolate. Coffee drinkers may enjoy this deep, dark, bitter flavor. I did not find it to be chocolatey and I'll stick with Vega Real or Maracaibo, which are both chocolatey and have a smooth finish. Coca River had a harsh aftertaste, not a smooth finish.

I felt there was a bit of an aftertaste with this that I just wasn't happy with. It isn't bad but with so many other kinds that I really enjoy I won't likely order this again.

Very smooth chocolate lingering taste....just heavenly.......needs no additives in my opinion, just steep, pour and start sipping.

So, this was my very first cup of Crio Bru, and actually my very first cup of any sort of cocoa bean coffee-style brew ever. I made a cup of Cavalla at the same time for comparison. But first, I tried the River. With nothing to compare it to, (yet), I really enjoyed the chocolatey flavor. I tried hard to detect the berry notes, but can't say that my palate is refined enough to catch them, but I did sense the banana notes, barely. Which is kind of where you'd want banana notes, at a "barely" level! I thought the scent was indeed juuuuuuust hinting at floralness over the chocolate smell (which is intoxicating) and overall, I really liked it! In comparison with the Cavalla, which I sipped next, it is quite fruity and bright, but only in comparision to the dark spiciness of the Cavalla. I really do love them both. Can't wait to try the other varieties!

I have drank coffee for many years. This product taste great and gives me energy to last the whole day. I add a bit of coffee to it to allow the taste to not be so different. I love it and its not hard on my bladder:)

I really enjoyed this flavor of bean. The bag really seals in the flavor and when you open it you get a rush of the aroma. It combines perfectly with cream and a touch of sugar to really bring out the flavor. Very delicious!

Coca River and Cavalla are our favorites! While Cavalla is the most chocolaty, Coca River has a fuller flavor in general. Have you ever noticed that adding a banana to any smoothie really rounds out the flavor? Well the notes of green banana do the same to this.
For 5 Tbsp. grounds we use at most 2 tsp. of sugar and it's delicious!

Another of my favorite tastes of Crio Bru. I cannot go a day without it. If I do I am not a happy person. Love it!
