Rising on the flanks of equatorial volcanoes, the Coca River winds through an emerald paradise in southern Ecuador until it feeds into the mighty Amazon. A village close to the Coca River, in a valley called Vilcabamba, is famous for the longevity of its people, many living more than a century. Nurtured in the black soil of this valley and the rich humidity of the cloud-covered rainforest, the Ecuadorian cacao bean produces the chocolatiest Crio Brü. This smooth, sweet and nourishing drink is accented by a perfumed floral scent and lovely floral tones, including a dominant green banana note, blueberries and jasmine.

I have tried most of the Crio Bru flavors and Coca River is the best one. They all are very good, but Coca River has a very rich chocolatey flavor that warms me up on cold mornings. I've completely gone away from coffee and rarely go a morning without my Crio Bru!

I have enjoyed every flavor I ordered. The differences are subtle but the Cocoa River delivers a richness I love ♥ So this is the one I reorder every time!

I think Coca River has the best chocolate flavor of all the choices. I do drink a few of the others but I always come back to this one. It's very satisfying.

Let me start by saying that I love coffee. I decided to give up caffeine before getting pregnant and didn't want the chemicals in decaf but still needed something hot to drink to start my day. Crio Bru saved the day! I feel that it gives me a little bit of a boost, but never the jitters I would get with coffee.
I've tried a couple of flavors and this is by far the best -- I love the chocolate flavor with a hint of banana. I do add some sugar and milk to mine, but I always did that with coffee anyway. I brew mine in a one-cup coffee maker using slightly less than 2 teaspoons (otherwise it's more than the coffee maker can handle).

This is my favorite Crio Bru! If you like dark chocolate then this one is for you! The Cocoa River has the darkest chocolate flavor out of the other flavors I've tried. I let mine steep for about 20-25 minutes so the chocolate flavor really develops. Then I just stick it in the microwave for about 20 seconds to get it hot again. Worth the extra wait!

So good to wake up to have a cup of Crio Bru in the morning with my husband. This blend needs some sweetening it does have a little bitter taste with out it. Since I am no longer drinking coffee Crio Bru is the answer.

Love, love, love Crio Bru, but of the five flavors I've tried, this is by far my least favorite. I should preface this by saying I'm not a coffee drinker; I prefer hot chocolate. Coffee drinkers may enjoy this deep, dark, bitter flavor. I did not find it to be chocolatey and I'll stick with Vega Real or Maracaibo, which are both chocolatey and have a smooth finish. Coca River had a harsh aftertaste, not a smooth finish.

I felt there was a bit of an aftertaste with this that I just wasn't happy with. It isn't bad but with so many other kinds that I really enjoy I won't likely order this again.

Very smooth chocolate lingering taste....just heavenly.......needs no additives in my opinion, just steep, pour and start sipping.

So, this was my very first cup of Crio Bru, and actually my very first cup of any sort of cocoa bean coffee-style brew ever. I made a cup of Cavalla at the same time for comparison. But first, I tried the River. With nothing to compare it to, (yet), I really enjoyed the chocolatey flavor. I tried hard to detect the berry notes, but can't say that my palate is refined enough to catch them, but I did sense the banana notes, barely. Which is kind of where you'd want banana notes, at a "barely" level! I thought the scent was indeed juuuuuuust hinting at floralness over the chocolate smell (which is intoxicating) and overall, I really liked it! In comparison with the Cavalla, which I sipped next, it is quite fruity and bright, but only in comparision to the dark spiciness of the Cavalla. I really do love them both. Can't wait to try the other varieties!
